TikTok travelers baffled by ‘weirdest’ hotel room with glass walls

Two TikTok travelers said they had the “weirdest experience” during their stay at the Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel. Although the stay was free, the duo had a list of things they would change about their accommodation.

TikTokers Margaret and Corey Bienert run the travel site “A Pretty Cool Hotel Tour” and often share with their 1.3 million followers the unique places they book while traveling.

Although the two are experts in their field, the travelers forgot to read the fine print when they were given a free stay at the Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel.

Although the couple knew that the walls of their hotel room were made of glass and anyone entering the lobby could see everything they did, they had no idea about the condition of the furnishings.

“We were completely unprepared for this experience. All I knew was that you get one night free when you book,” Margaret said in a TikTok.

“The thing is, I just hadn’t done my research to realize that this is an art hotel, so whoever stays in this room is just part of the art,” she added.

While the duo initially resigned themselves to the fact that strangers could see them in their sleep, they were shocked to discover that the lights could not be dimmed, leading to a rather restless night.

“We just found out that the lights never go out,” Margaret said, lying in her hotel bed after midnight.

In addition, the TikTokers were kept awake by passersby because their room was not soundproof at all.

After her experience, Margaret mentioned the few things she would have liked to do during her stay if she had known what she was getting into.

She said she would have entertained guests “instead of feeling completely vulnerable” by playing the setlist of Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour,” painting or asking passersby to pay her $5 for a kiss through the glass wall.

Those who saw the TikTokers’ viral story responded by suggesting alternative responses to the uncomfortable situation.

“Give them a show, pretend it’s one-way glass and scream for help,” one wrote.

“I was trying to scare people,” added another.

TikToker Lavell Jackson also made headlines in 2024 when he shared his own hotel experience. When he went to use his toothbrush, he noticed that the bristles were “worn out.”

When he realized that housekeeping must have used the toothbrush to clean the room, he immediately ripped it out of his mouth. When he told the concierge what happened, they gave him a $50 credit.
