Antoine Griezmann gave all his Atletico Madrid teammates special gifts after their European Super Cup victory against Real Madrid.
Even though the cup does not have the same significance as the Champions League or the Europa League, Griezmann was keen to mark the occasion appropriately.
While in Europe trophies and medals are the be-all and end-all, in US sports the winners of the Super Bowl, the NBA and the World Series usually honor their successes with specially designed winner’s rings.

And that’s exactly what Griezmann did after Wednesday night’s victory: he designed rings for all of his teammates.
He showed them off on his Instagram; they were encrusted with gold and diamonds and featured the Atletico badge on the front.

While that’s a bit much for winning the European Super Cup, it shows what Atletico means to Griezmann, who turned down Barcelona’s offer to extend his four-year stay in the Spanish capital.
Now Atletico must focus on La Liga, and given Real Madrid’s turbulent summer and Barcelona’s failure to really strengthen its squad, many are tipping Diego Simeone’s team to upset the natural order and claim their first title since 2014.
