American Airlines domestic flight lands in the Bahamas: “They are all illegal immigrants here”

Passengers of a American Airlines Flight were named Immigrants when they were stranded in the Bahamas for 24 hours due to “excruciating circumstances.” The flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Miami, Florida — with around 90 passengers on board — was diverted to the Bahamas because of Hurricane Debby and there were no accommodations for the passengers. Dimas Henriquez, a passenger on Flight 2421, told Fox News Digital that they were labeled as illegal immigrants on the island nation, even though they had nothing to do with the emergency.
“They specifically stated that you are all illegal immigrants and you don’t have much say. Even though we didn’t choose to be there,” Dimas Henriquez, a passenger on American Airlines Flight 2421, told Fox News Digital. “We were literally locked in… It wasn’t possible to get out,” he continued. “I was awake the whole time, but people were lying on the floor, in corners and stuff, very scattered. It looked like we were camping inside.”

Videos of passengers in the Bahamas went viral on TikTok because they found it unbelievable that they had to spend the night in another country. One TikToker said in his video that the pilot announced that they had to land in the Bahamas, another country. The pilot even asked who had their passports.
“We land the plane, sit on the tarmac for two hours, get off the plane, and it turns out the pilot can’t work overtime or anything, so we had to get off the plane,” said the TikToker with the handle @griptape_dimas.
“We got off here. We can’t leave the terminal because we’re not allowed to be here. We’re here illegally and not only can’t we leave the airport, we can’t leave the terminal. There’s nothing we can do.”
