This new showroom in LA is a paradise for natural stones

Design studio FORM (LA) – led by Australian-born architect Jordan Mosslar – has been shaping the custom stone furniture scene in Los Angeles since 2021. Mosslar has now taken his creative endeavor a step further and opened the brand’s first-ever flagship showroom on North La Brea Avenue.

FORM (LA)’s new home is a warm, textural, sexy oasis inspired by modern Italian design.

The 500 square meter space in LA is stunning, to say the least. On one hand, it’s huge, but when you go deeper inside, you get an idea of how intimate, sexy and warm it is. Mosslar launched FORM (LA) to fill the gap in the market for curating natural stone products and to eliminate the all-too-common stumbling blocks of sourcing, finding a manufacturer and creating drawings. The new space is therefore exquisitely “stone powered.”

“I incorporated natural stone into all of the architectural elements of the space, including the floor, walls, archways, and even a Calacatta Viola pivot entry door,” says Mosslar, who was inspired by modern Italian design when designing the showroom. “The new marble vanities and bathtubs are stunning and are some of my personal favorites among the yet-to-be-officially-launched FORM (LA) offerings.”

And there’s more. Rooms feature both the brand’s signature finishes – visible in everything from the flooring to the light switches – and fresh interpretations of seating, fireplace surrounds and more. Cream walls are stained in terracotta orange and moody browns; travertine furniture pieces serve as their own showpieces; and custom plaster lamps, made in collaboration with Tristan Kallas out of Studio Tristan Kallasare recurring, refreshing motifs. “I want people to feel like they have entered a hybrid of designer store, art gallery and inviting home,” says Mosslar.

That wish came true, considering how positively the showroom has been received since its recent launch. “It was absolutely incredible to see clients in complete disbelief, not only at the marble detailing, but also at the sheer size of the space,” Mosslar tells ELLE DECOR. “I love seeing their eyes light up with inspiration.”

Mosslar’s care, skill and passion for natural stone are clearly expressed in its 500 square meter showroom.

Although FORM (LA) furniture and objects are indeed available in the new flagship store, that doesn’t mean Mosslar has given up his passion for delivering bespoke stone creations to his clients, many of whom are in the commercial sector. In fact, this new chapter for FORM (LA) is spurring its founder and creative director to delve even deeper: “I’m really looking forward to continuing to expand FORM (LA)’s capabilities and collections with some exciting product launches that we have in the pipeline.”
