Halle Berry tells the story behind her recent half-nude photo shoot, which she did surrounded by cats.

The union Star celebrated her film Catwomans 20th anniversary last month on Instagram, sharing photos of herself and her kitties Boots and Coco, posing topless and wearing a matching black and white cat eye mask.

Berry, 58, told the story behind the photo shoot on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon Thursday, August 15, and explained that her furry friends were an unexpected surprise.

“This is what happens when you show up at your house?!” host Jimmy Fallon joked in response, referring to Berry’s stripped-down look in the photos.

“That’s why I did it! The kittens made me do it,” joked the Oscar winner.

Fallon, 49, talked to his guest about their superhero film Catwomanwhich, as Berry noted, was “panned” by critics at the time of its release because it was “shit.”

“It’s not that bad. I’ve had worse reviews,” the presenter teased.

But now “the kids have found it on the Internet and they love it,” Berry said.

“It’s so satisfying, isn’t it? Because now they’re saying it’s cool and what the hell was everyone’s problem with it? So I’m like, ‘Now I’m such a brat,'” she joked.

When Fallon asked if she would reprise her role as Patience Phillips/Catwoman two decades later, Berry said she wouldn’t rule it out – but with one caveat.

“Maybe if I could direct. Maybe!” she said.

The Union is now streaming on Netflix.
