The stage and podium for the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago have been announced.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, United Center CEO Terry Savarise, Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison and others unveiled the arena Thursday at the United Center.

The convention is scheduled to begin Monday, August 19, through Thursday, August 22, and will attract Democrats from near and far to support the candidacy of Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for the Democratic nomination.

According to congress officials, several months of planning went into designing the DNC arena.

“Every inch of the arena has been carefully and intentionally thought through and designed to be an interactive and immersive experience that makes attendees feel welcome and fully involved,” congress officials said in a press release.

Johnson said the convention in Chicago would help shape America’s future.

“In a week, the city will be electrified again when they send a woman to the White House who understands the interests of working people in this country,” Johnson said in a press release. “This is about securing America’s future, where sons and daughters and grandparents around the world, but especially here in the United States of America, can see in Vice President Kamala Harris the reflection of their nature and their values.”
