Monster Energy and Green Day release skate film “Monsters & Saviors” with Olympic medalist Nyjah Huston

Monster Energy is proud to announce the worldwide premiere of the new skate film “Monsters & Saviors”, featuring the iconic California Rock band Green Day. To celebrate Green Day’s current “The Saviors Tour”, the eleven-minute video was shot by cameraman Russell Houghten features songs from the band’s legendary albums Dookie and American Idiot as well as exclusive action footage featuring Monster Energy skateboarders, including Nyjah Huston.

The new video “Monsters & Saviors” pays tribute to Green Day’s legacy in the skateboarding scene, combining the band’s signature punk sound with images of some of the world’s best professional skateboarders in a nostalgic video.

Considered one of the most influential bands of the mid-1990s California Green Day became a household name in the punk rock scene with the release of their groundbreaking album Dookie in 1994. Green Day continued to shape and inspire the action sports community with the release of American Idiot in 2004. The band’s songs have been featured on skateboarding video soundtracks and the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater video game series. Earlier this year, they released their 14th studio album, Saviors.

Led by Russell Houghten “Monsters & Saviors” was produced by the production company Brindle Collective and contains various sections of three of Green Day’s most famous songs: The surprise hit “Longview” accompanies a street skating section that was filmed on location in Los Angeles And San Diego.

The title song “American Idiot” enlivens a pool area in the backyard, which is in Victorville, Californiawith a cameo appearance by the professional skateboarder from the 1970s Steve Olson. Finally, “Bobby Sox” provides the soundtrack for an unrestrained aerial session on the mega-ramp complex “Sloanyard” in Vista, Californiafor a video experience you won’t want to miss.
