From the Las Vegas Raiders locker room: DL Byron Young

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – The Las Vegas Raiders are in the third week of 2024 NFL training camp and are preparing to host the Dallas Cowboys in their second preseason game.

The Silver and Black hope to name a starting quarterback after Saturday’s game, with Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew in a neck-and-neck race for the starting quarterback spot.

Tonight, your beloved Raiders returned to Allegiant Stadium for a free public workout in front of Raider Nation.

We spoke to DT Byron Young after practice and have everything he said from training camp.

You can watch the entire press conference below:

Las Vegas Raiders coach Antonio Pierce recently gave a speech before practice. A partial transcript is below.

Q: You obviously believed in DJ Glaze, but are you a little bit pleasantly surprised by how far he’s come in camp?

Coach Pierce: “The only word I can say for him is consistency. He’s had some other snaps, but, yeah, one snap in the game that I know we’d all like to take back, right? The first one in the third quarter, a guy makes an inside move on him, he allows a sack. Other than that, I mean, you’re talking about someone who is tenacious, consistent, alignment, commitment, his technique is just — that’s every day. It starts in practice, and then we get in the game, and it happens in the game, and he’s going up against Maxx (Crosby) and Malcolm (Koonce) and Tyree (Wilson), and it just shows. He’s going to get beat, he’s a freshman, he’s going to go through some teething issues. But it’s very impressive just to see his growth and development, but more importantly, how consistent he’s been every single day. That’s hard for a freshman.”
