Fields of Mistria has been in Early Access for less than two weeks and the developers at NPC Studios have already been hard at work. On August 15th, Fields of Mistria received its first patch, which fixes annoying bugs and provides some updates based on community feedback.
If you’ve ever lost track of time while decorating your farmhouse and passed out, only to wake up the next morning in the void of black space, this patch will be a relief to you – and those who accidentally managed to put their worn-out tools in a shipping crate and found themselves without any tools will be happy to hear that this update also fixes that and many more issues.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t an update designed to add more features to the game like those mentioned in the Early Access roadmap. This is a bug fix patch, although some small features have been added for completeness.
There is a known issue with Steam Cloud Saves that results in invalid save files. In the patch notes, NPC Studios suggests disabling the cloud save option and playing the game on the device it was originally downloaded to as a workaround while they actively try to fix the root cause.

- Worn tools, including the following, can now be purchased at the General Store
- Worn watering can
- Worn hoe
- Worn sword
- The Basic Cape is now available in more colors
New features
- Additional gift options have been added for all NPCs.
- New dialogue options have been added for Balor in the Saturday Market.
Gameplay updates
- The height of several wall items has been adjusted, including the rustic cabin wall shelf and the beautiful country house wall flowers.
- Animals expecting offspring can no longer be sold, moved to another building, or placed in Sweetwater Farm’s day care.
- Animals that were previously relocated during pregnancy are no longer pregnant but can be found at the location to which they were relocated.
- Potato is now a popular gift for Holt instead of being both liked and loved
- For Darcy, Crystal Berries have become a popular gift rather than a thing to be both liked and loved.
- Your new free Like slot will be replaced by another, unnamed item
- Black rabbits are now level 2 instead of level 3
Bug fixes
- Players will no longer be stuck in the void if they pass out at 2am and have no bed in their house.
- Perks will no longer trigger before they have been unlocked.
- Weather particles will no longer appear in cutscenes when the Weather Particle Strength setting is set to None.
- The damage values of Infused Weapons are now always rounded to the nearest number.
- Interacting with the soup pot in the Sleeping Dragon Inn while holding a consumable item will no longer cause the item to be consumed.
- Wearing Hasty Armor no longer increases the player’s movement speed
- The beach bridge will now repair properly even if the cutscene is skipped.
- If this issue has already occurred, the Beach Bridge will now be repaired as planned.
- Dozy and Henrietta no longer have dialogues intended for human NPCs.
- Unwanted gifts on birthdays no longer trigger a placeholder birthday row.
- “Request for Emerald” and “Request for Rabbit Wool” now list the intended recipient.
Crash fixes
- If you get too close to Dozy during the Spring Festival, the game no longer crashes
- Using the pickaxe at 2am no longer causes the game to crash.
- Game crashes no longer occur occasionally when fishing.
- Attempting to place a small animal in a shipping container no longer causes the game to crash
