A Doordash mishap ended as a healing moment for two hungry strangers when one of them mysterious package of delicious donuts delivered unannounced to their door, and ate it.
Becca Barnoski, a healthcare worker who had recently had a baby and was particularly hungry that day, decided to wait a few hours to see if the original owner would come to pick up the dessert, but no one came.
“There is a DoorDash of Duck Donuts on my doorstep. No one came to pick it up. Can it morally be mine?” she asked a friend.
“Eat it! It’s been two hours, now it’s yours,” they replied, whereupon the mother immediately devoured two of the six pastries.
However, her antics were exposed the next day when her neighbor and original owner of the donuts left her a note.

“I was immediately embarrassed and desperately tried to make amends for my mistake,” Barnoski told Newsweek. “I knew I had to be honest.”
The mother explained that she had been receiving constant gifts and food since the birth of her baby in March and thought the Donuts could have been intended for her. She noticed that the apartment number was not on the receipt.
To her surprise, her neighbor reacted positively and even congratulated her on her birth after she explained her situation.

“It’s totally fine! Congratulations on the baby! I’m glad they went to a good home and I hope you liked them,” he replied.
“You were a Surprise from my cousin, so we weren’t expecting it. Thank you for letting us know and please don’t worry.”
Despite her neighbor’s good intentions, Barnoski could not suppress her feelings of guilt and wanted to make amends for her “gluttony.”
“I felt guilty because my fat ass can’t resist unsupervised snacks, so I left this on her door,” she explained, showing a photo of a letter with a restaurant menu for Texas de Brazil, a steakhouse chain.

The resulting TikTok post has garnered 4.3 million views and over 375,000 likes at the time of writing.
Barnoski admitted she was surprised by how viral her post was. While most of the comments were positive or made fun of the situation, some negative comments also touched her and she decided to respond.
“A gift card to a mediocre chain restaurant instead of a gift card to the donut shop as a replacement for the order you went through doesn’t make much sense,” said one comment to read what Barnosky showed in a follow-up video, which showed that her neighbor ultimately didn’t care and appreciated the gesture.

She was also interviewed by some spectators She felt that she had not checked the receipt properly, as it normally contains both the address and the name of the buyer.
“Didn’t it have the address on it so you could just bring it to the door?” asked one user.
“It didn’t!! And I don’t know all my neighbors so I didn’t recognize the name. I 10,000% would have brought it if I had known,” she replied.
Her viewers congratulated her on making up for the accident, and many pointed out the high cost of food at Texas de Brazil.

Barnoski continues to maintain a good relationship with her neighbors and revealed that they each plan to go on a double date with their spouses in the future.
