Believe it or not, summer is coming to an end, but there’s still plenty to do in the Detroit metropolitan area, including livening up your weekend a little.

The annual Sunflower Fest at Blakes Cider Mill features DIY workshops, over 200 artisans with handcrafted goods, activities for kids and more. There is also an opportunity to pick sunflowers and fruits and vegetables. The fest is Friday through Sunday at 17985 Armada Center, Armada.

Next up is the Grosse Pointe Art Fair. The annual event is held on the beautiful grounds of the Ford House estate. The fair features food, live acoustic performances and award-winning artists. It takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 1100 Lake Shore Rd. Grosse Pointe.

Now it’s on to the Motown Museum for a musical celebration. To celebrate its 65th anniversary, the museum will host 65 bassists for a mega jam session. The artists will be of all ages and will rock out to Motown classics by legends like The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and more. The event will take place on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. in the museum’s Rocket Plaza.

It’s time for another milestone celebration. Belle Isle Aquarium is celebrating its 120th anniversary. The jewel of Detroit is hosting a family day with story time, arts and crafts, a bouncy castle, food trucks and more. The celebration will take place Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
