Serena Williams has officially been a mother of two for a year (!!), and she’s celebrating by reflecting on her pregnancy with baby Adira. The Olympic gold medalist just shared never-before-seen maternity photos from her 2023 pregnancy, and she looks absolutely stunning in every one of them.
“One year ago today – August 15th – I gave birth to my second little girl, Adira River Ohanian,” Williams wrote on Instagram. “She is a true light. Here’s a look inside my maternity shoot. @adiraohanian”

In the stunning snaps (which you can see HERE), Williams has that gorgeous pregnancy glow. In one photo, she’s lying in a bed of pink and white flowers, wrapped in a delicate pink dress that shows off her baby bump. One hand is holding her belly and the other is raised above her head in the sexy photo.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion is completely naked in the next photo, hanging in the air from an air sheet, one foot pointed upwards and her head tilted back. Her stomach is the focal point, but her incredible athleticism cannot be overlooked either. She is truly incredible!
Williams closes her eyes and has one hand on her bare stomach in the final photo. She’s wearing a sports bra and underwear and is holding a loop for hanging. Long panels of fabric from armbands flow down both arms in the ethereal image.
“Stunning. 🌺🌸💐 AND she can do aerial shots while pregnant. 🤩😮💨,” one person wrote. Another said: “These pictures are stunning – wow! They really capture the beauty of motherhood. It’s hard to believe a whole year has already passed, time flies!❤️”

During her pregnancy with Adira, Williams also took family photos with her husband Alexis Ohanian and their now 6-year-old daughter Olympia. She shared the photos on Instagram, including one where the trio is dressed in matching white and Olympia is holding her mom’s hand and kissing her belly. You can see how excited she is for her little sister! She also shared a photo of herself alone, where she’s wearing a dazzling white dress and cradling her belly.

“Adira is a girl’s name of Hebrew origin and means ‘powerful’, ‘strong’ and ‘majestic’,” she captioned the photos (which you can see HERE). “The elegant name is popular in many cultures around the world. Adira is the feminine form of the classic name Adir. It is a biblical name meaning ‘the strong one.’
Ohanian commented on her post: “She is ONE! 😮 how did this happen so fast?” (Seriously – we can’t believe it either!)
Mindy Kaling commented: “Beautiful name for an icon.”
In an interview with Entertainment tonight in June, the In the arena: Serena Williams The star spoke openly about what it’s like raising her second baby. “I think the second time around I’m a little bit more of a ‘if Adira falls, I’m not going to die like I did at the Olympics,'” she said. “Now I’m like, ‘Oh, she’s tough, she’s going to do it.’ And she is tough.”
