An exciting John Grisham Adaptation fills his schedule as Madison Iseman the original horror thriller series from Prime Video, I know what you did last summer, was cast for a regular role in the series for The Rainmaker, per Deadline. The legal drama series was recently developed at USA Network and is based on Grisham’s popular novel of the same name. This is the second time the material has been adapted for the screen, as the same novel also served as inspiration for Francis Ford CoppolaThe film was released in 1997 with a top-class cast, including Matt Damon, Daniel DeVito, Claire Danes, Mickey RourkeAnd Jon Voight.
The series is a long-cherished project by author and executive producer Michael Seitzman whose vision of bringing the story to the screen finally becomes a reality after six years. Sietzman teamed up with Jason Richman to write the pilot episode. Both are also executive producers Jason Blum and Grisham in what seems like a dream production team that includes Lionsgate and Blumhouse. According to the official synopsis, the series follows “Rudy Baylor, fresh out of law school, who finds himself tangled up with legal tycoon Leo Drummond and his law school girlfriend. Rudy, along with his boss and her scruffy paralegal, uncover two interconnected conspiracies surrounding the mysterious death of their client’s son.”
In her main role in the series, Iseman will step into the shoes of Rudy’s girlfriend Sarah Plankmore, a recent law graduate. Iseman first rose to fame with a role in the comedy series CMT. Still the king. She gained further fame as Bethany in Jumanji: Welcome to the Junglea role she would repeat in subsequent sequels.
