If there’s one thing I know about Diane Keaton, aside from her extensive filmography, which includes some of my all-time favorite stars, it’s that she has a penchant for dressing a certain way. Always effortlessly chic, always timeless, and almost always monochromatic.
Yes, you don’t often see Diane on a red carpet in anything other than her signature black and white, so perhaps it’s no big surprise that she loves this color palette for her home decor as well. So much so that her latest collection with retailer Hudson Grace, one of our favorite home decor brands, features nothing but white, black and neutrals, plus a tiny pop of color. “(This collection is) black and white, a little gray and a pop of color: red!” says Monelle Totah, owner of Hudson Grace. “We call it Keaton Red.”
It’s a collection with lasting appeal that doesn’t seem too seasonal, nor is it too fixated on a specific decorating style. Essentially, this 109-piece collection could be the new building blocks for your bedroom, dining room or kitchen to give your space a classic and elevated style. Here are my highlights of the collection.
Hudson Grace x Diane Keaton
This latest launch is an extension of Diane Keaton’s existing collaboration with Hudson Grace and brings some gorgeous new pieces into the mix. Think black and white tableware, neutral bedding, decorative and kitchen pieces, and some cool graphic word motifs.
“The stoneware plates are particularly stylish,” says Livingetc.comJulia Demer, Style Editor of , says: “And I can imagine them fitting in with almost any kitchen. I like the idea of combining the striped salad plates with the Hudson Grace semi-curved plate for a mix-and-match vibe and completing the table with the solid black bowls.”
My pick? The striped woven placemats from the collection. I have an undeniable weakness for stripes, but it’s also an example of how Diane has brought warmer neutrals into the collection as well.
Monochromatic decor can sometimes look a little dreary in the wrong setting (think an all-black-and-white kitchen with overly smooth surfaces, or a cold and sterile bathroom), but this collection equips you with everything you need to add some warmth to a black-and-white scheme – neutral-colored textures like jute and wood.
If you’re feeling inspired by this collaboration, I’ve rounded up my favorites from the collection, along with some styling ideas to make them fit beautifully into your home.

A small investment, but this plate design from the collection has a timeless appeal and looks a little more modern than plain white porcelain.

I love the idea of this contrasting salad plate that you can fill your dinner table with for a dramatic effect. Pair it with a more simple design or go all out with pattern contrast.

I love mugs with irregular surfaces and this one not only feels good in the hand, but also looks great stacked on the shelf, which wouldn’t be the case with a more perfect mug.
Khaki linen number napkins
Price: 95 USD
These graphic napkins are not only a nice little design detail for your dining table, they also help your guests keep track of what’s on the table.
Pop Art Enamel Serving Set

Cool, modern salad servers are actually surprisingly hard to find – and this one is a little unusual in this collection, but I like it nonetheless.
Modern serving tray with dots

I can’t resist a good side table or step stool, and this wooden one is wonderfully quirky in all the right ways, while looking appropriately contemporary in its striking black.

An alternative to classic white sheets, this delicate gingham design is small enough to be easy to read, while adding some depth and texture (and hiding wrinkles better).
