ROCKINGHAM – The Richmond Senior High School football team lost its first game of the season on Wednesday against a “top-class team.”
After Monday’s one-goal win over Piedmont, the Raiders lost 4-0 in their first home game against Independence High School.
Head coach Chris Larsen was pleased with the team’s performance and noted that the Raiders are adjusting to a new lineup this season.
Independence scored two goals in each half. Senior goalkeeper Adrian Padron played the majority of the game and junior Camden Williams was in goal for the remaining 20 minutes.
