Depending on your age, Belvidere Moose Lodge offers the opportunity to relive the “Happy Days” or, for younger people, to step into a time machine and see what the 1950s were like.
The matinee event runs from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15. The Trinadora Rocks Band will choose from over a dozen instruments and a repertoire of 600 songs to create a lively, authentic musical atmosphere. Comfortable seating is available for the audience and a spacious dance floor is available for the dancers. ’50s-style attire is encouraged but not required. Since it’s homecoming season, the man and woman wearing the best ’50s costumes will be crowned King and Queen, respectively – prizes included.
Light packaged snacks are available for purchase and the bar is open.
This special event is open to the public. The music of the 1950s is surprisingly diverse. In addition to the early rock and roll that dominated the radio waves in the 1950s, Latin, line dancing, polka, swing and other dance forms are also featured.
Proceeds from the event benefit the mission of the Belvidere Women of the Moose chapter. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.
