The second largest donation in the history of Penn State Athletics will go towards the renovation of Beaver Stadium

The $700 million renovation project at Pennsylvania State University’s Beaver Stadium has received an important boost from a so-called “key donation.”

The athletic department announced Wednesday that it had received a $25 million donation from the Misitano family and PAM Health, the second-largest donation the department has ever received.

Anthony Misitano, founder of Enola-based PAM Health, called the opportunity to contribute to the project an honor.

“As lifelong Penn Staters, we have had the privilege of building relationships with many coaches, student-athletes and university leaders,” Misitano said in a press release. “As this project took shape, we recognized how important the revitalization of Penn State’s landmark is to these people, the university, this Happy Valley community and the state of Pennsylvania. This initiative is critical to maintaining Penn State’s status as one of the nation’s elite institutions, and we are proud to support it.”

He and his family have held season tickets since 1978 and also hold season tickets for men’s basketball and men’s hockey.

Pat Kraft, Penn State athletic director, thanked the family for their donation in a statement.

“The Misitano family has a long history of being involved with Penn State Athletics and has been an incredible supporter of a number of athletic programs. This tremendous Founder’s Gift is another example of their dedication to Penn State,” Kraft said. “Words cannot express how grateful we are to the Misitano family and PAM Health for their commitment to taking the lead on this important project to make Beaver Stadium even more iconic than it already is.”

In May, Pennsylvania State University’s Board of Trustees approved spending up to $700 million to renovate Beaver Stadium, the facility’s first major renovation in 25 years.

The west tower, which is part of the project and will house a university welcome center, will be named after the Misitano family’s donation, according to a press release.
