John Cena hits the jackpot in Atlanta!

Superstar actor and wrestler John Cena has been spending a lot of time in Atlanta lately.

In addition to the second season of the series “Peacemaker” currently being filmed in the city, Cena’s latest film – the Prime Video action comedy “Jackpot!” – was also shot in Atlanta.

“I’m grateful to the city of Atlanta – especially for giving us a set for ‘Jackpot!’ – but I’ve been here many times,” Cena says. “There’s a lot of entertainment; Atlanta loves entertainment and the industry. I’m very grateful for that.”

In Jackpot!, Cena plays a “lottery protection agent” who works overtime to keep Awkwafina alive… in a society where the general public can legally kill lottery winners and keep the money for themselves! Although the film is set in Los Angeles, viewers will recognize some of the locations from Atlanta.

“I loved it,” says director Paul Feig about filming in Georgia. “It was my first time shooting in Atlanta and I liked it so much that I want to go back there and make another film. It was just fun.”

Awkwafina adds, “I love Atlanta. It’s probably my third movie I’ve shot there and going back there is like seeing an old friend. I was in Cabbagetown and I passed by the old Jimmy John’s where I always went. The food there is so good, the people are amazing, you have everything you need in Atlanta.”

“Jackpot!” will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video starting Thursday, August 15.
