Peacemaker Star John Cena gave The Direct an exclusive update on when season 2 of his DCU series might be released.
Originally developed as a spin-off of Gunn’s The suicide squad, Peacemaker became a hit in early 2022. At the end of the first season, it had the highest daily performance of any Max original series to date.
However, when Gunn took over as co-head of DC Studios, a brand new slate of projects was created for the future. Fortunately, Peacemaker was not affected as the confirmation for Season 2 would not be withdrawn in this new era of DC storytelling.

John Cena gives brief update on Peacemaker Season 2 release
Peacemaker Star John Cena shared an exciting update on the status of Season 2’s release with The Direct at the red carpet event for his new film. Jackpot!at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, California.
When asked when he thought Season 2 would be released, he stated that the new episodes would have a release window of 2025. However, this was the only new information he could give about the show at this time:
Cena: “I’m confident I can say next year… And that’s about the only Peacemaker question I can answer.”
In April 2023, James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, answered a fan’s question about whether Season 2 would still be on X (formerly Twitter). In short, he replied, “Yes, after Superman,” suggesting that the season would be released after July 2025. Superman Film.
It is important to note that Gunn is the writer and director of Superman He also serves as writer and director for the second season of Peacemaker, although he only directed three episodes in this season, compared to the six episodes in the first season.
When will Peacemaker season 2 be released?
In June 2023, Gunn confirmed that he would be directing Superman To Peacemaker Season 2 after completing work on his first DCU film. After Gunn hinted on Instagram that Superman Filming wrapped at the end of July, but the transition could happen any time in the next few weeks.
