Update 13.08. Flash Sale for existing Pepper users: Pepper is offering 10X points on Amazon for existing users on 8/13 (one day ONLY). You’ll get 4% points back immediately and 6% points back on 8/31/24. That’s 10% off Amazon gift cards and you’ll still get all the credit card rewards from the Pepper purchase. Total savings could be 12%+. Gift cards will show up immediately. I see Airbnb at 10x today too.

Tip: Every 2,000 points are worth $1 in future gift cards. 10,000 points = $5, etc. Must be redeemed in $5 increments.

Here is the current offer for new Pepper users:

  • Download the Pepper Rewards app and be sure to enter a referral code 588494 on the first screen when joining.
  • Get double points for the first 15 days. Limits vary, but I was able to purchase up to $500 worth of Amazon gift cards per day and $2,000 per month. Amazon’s standard is 4% cash back, for a total of 8% (you may get more at select stores that have sales). Be sure to complete your purchases within the 15-day period.
  • You’ll also earn rewards when you use your credit card to make purchases. Use a cash-back rewards card that offers 2% or more, or use it to meet a credit card bonus spending requirement that’s even better than 2%.

Pepper is an iOS and Android app that sells discounted, new gift cards in precise amounts, delivered instantly to your phone. This lets you wait until the moment before you buy, when you already have the final purchase price (in person or online), and then use the app to purchase a discounted gift card down to the penny. The main problem with gift cards is when you don’t use up all the balance. This way you avoid wastage.
