John Cena confirms his retirement from WWE: “Trust built over time”

Retirement of wrestlers is often met with skepticism. There have been cases where legends have announced their departure only to return later. However, 2025 will mark the final end for one of the sport’s most famous figures.

One name that has become synonymous with WWE is John Cena, who has now confirmed his retirement after his WWE farewell tour. In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, John Cena was categorical about his decision to quit wrestling. “No matter how big the check is in December when I quit, there’s no one writing it that’s going to change my mind.” He noted that his ego and money are no longer what drives him.

“I don’t want to do it for selfishness or financial gain anymore. I’ve built a bond with my fans over the years that’s based on trust and honesty. There are people who think I’m terrible and others who believe in me. They know they’re being honest with me when I talk to them.”

They know that I am honest and that I am trustworthy. For me, this is not just empty talk: when December comes and goes, my career ends. That is the last time you will see me in this ring.”

John Cena Trust Legacy

Authenticity has defined Cena’s long career. This announcement shows that he has built a relationship with his fans based on loyalty to the truth. This extends to him and WWE management as well. As the year 2025 approaches, Cena remains steadfast in his retirement, leaving behind a legacy that few others can match.

In other news beyond 2025, however, Cena is considering making occasional appearances but made it clear that his days as an entertainer are numbered. “I will definitely be a member of the WWE family as an ambassador and be grateful for everything, but you’ll see me wearing that (his suit) instead of those wristbands there (the jorts) or with baseball caps.

That ends in December 2025. That’s why we’re putting so much emphasis on this farewell tour.” Towards the end of the year, Cena will have his final matches, marking the culmination of an era. The leader of Cenation will take a break from wrestling, but will continue to be associated with WWE, leaving an unforgettable impression on the world.
