Sonam Kapoor loves everything that is classy and aesthetic. Similar to her fashion taste, the diva uses similar elements in interior design too. From her stucco building in Notting Hill, the actress has moved to a condo in Mumbai. Initially sceptical, Sonam slowly began to admire her new home in Mumbai with “double-height ceilings and the sweep of the side space”. She began to “enjoy the idea of creating a spectacle out of nothing”. Designed by her aunt Kavita Singh, Sonam’s residence in the city of dreams is a tribute to Indian craftsmanship and culture at its best.
In the living room, a collection of colourful and masterful Tanjore paintings hangs on the walls. A bespoke sofa by Kavita Singh Interiors has been decorated with Mughal-inspired zardo And Subscribe Cushions. They were woven from antique textiles. Around the sumptuous sofa, a group of brass tables sat on a Sarough wool carpet. In the bar area, the furniture was carved from teak. Austrian silver candelabras increased the overall luxury factor.

The walls around the royal dressing table were painted in blue and white. A Venetian mirror paired with a dhurrie rug and silver tableware were the perfect decoration. The archaic candlesticks cannot be overlooked as they are simply mesmerizing. In the master bedroom, a converted Rajasthani-style jali stood behind the upholstered bed. The dramatic chandelier and cozy linens created a royal atmosphere. Chinese and Dutch pottery, including silver items, enhanced the appeal of the room.
Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s son Vayu’s room was designed to exude a woodland vibe. Jungle murals dominated the walls. There was custom-made furniture and stuffed animals, including a 1960s-style Art Deco chandelier. A Hermes rocking horse toy sat on a quirky table lamp. White bed linens with illustrated covers enhanced the childlike character of the room.
The guest bedroom features accent walls, a chandelier, a Victorian Colonial Mandalay music box, and stunning color-coordinated bed arrangements, vintage chairs, and an antique bench in all the right places.
