Lillian Fowler reached a remarkable milestone on July 31: She celebrated her 104th birthday with her family, friends and community members in Catholic Church of Christ our Savior. The celebration took place in c.after the mass at 10:30 a.m. in the parish hall of the church, where Fowler is a regular guest and was for decades.
Born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, Fowler is the second youngest of eight siblings. She met her late husband Ollie. Fowler, while studying in Lafayette. The couple married before Ollie began his career in the U.S. Air Force, a journey that eventually brought them to Northwest Florida after his retirement in 1981.
During her birthday celebration, Fowler reflected on her long life with characteristic humility. “It doesn’t feel any different being 104,” she shared Mid Bay News on August 11, 2024.
When Fowler was asked about the secret of her long life, she cited her love of gardening and gardening as the reason for a Love of flowers. Despite her age, she remains active and is already planning her next garden project. “This year I plan to completely redesign my flower beds,” she said with a smile.
