Authors’ association presents guidelines for book marketing

The Muskoka Authors Association is pleased to offer a special event via ZOOM in conversation with moderator Bret Newton of Friesen Press. Book your calendars for Thursday, September 5, 7 p.m. The presentation will be 1–1.5 hours long.

Marketing is one of the most important elements of a self-publishing author’s life. Whether you’re looking to make this your career or a passion project, you’ll want to make sure you develop the right marketing strategy for your book.

This webinar will provide an overview of the basic marketing practices needed to build an audience for your book before publication and over the long term. We’ll also explore the differences between hiring a company to promote your book and doing these tasks yourself, with or without coaching.

Authors can easily feel overwhelmed by the vastness of the publishing industry. The goal of this webinar is to give you a clear overview of your options and the marketing services available to you, and to develop an informed opinion on how best to continue your journey as an author.

Friesen will select one attendee to receive a free manuscript evaluation from Friesen Press—a $500 value. To be considered for this evaluation, attendees must scan a QR code displayed during the presentation to give Friesen your email address. This will allow them to contact you and add you to their mailing list.

Friesen Press is the world’s only 100% employee-owned publishing service provider. Since 2009, the company has helped thousands of authors publish over 8,000 titles. Part of Canada’s largest independent book printer, Friesens Corporation, FriesenPress provides professional editing, design, distribution and promotion support for those looking to self-publish their books.
