Hardhat speaks about ‘The Elephant in the Womb’ at recent charity art auction – Campaign letter

Although it is estimated that one in seven women suffer from endometriosis, a condition that causes lower abdominal or back pain, severe period pain and pain during or after sex, it currently takes an average of six and a half years to be diagnosed. It is a condition that is often out in the open and has historically been dismissed and ignored. That’s why Hardhat, the agency that specialises in behaviour change for challenger brands, recently held a charity art auction to raise money for Endometriosis Australia.

The Elephant in the Womb art exhibition featured works by hardhatters and friends of the agency in a range of media, from collage and sculpture to photography, fashion and fine art. From creative to client services, all agency teams were represented and there was a unique work created live on the evening by Melbourne artist Ayden Emini.

The basketball half court at Hardhat’s headquarters was transformed into a gallery for the night, with a packed house of art lovers bidding and dancing the night away. In addition to tickets and additional donations, the sale of all 25 artworks on the night raised a whopping $3,490 for Endometriosis Australia.

Jonathan Heath, Creative Director at Hardhat and creator of the Art for Ad’s Sake newsletter, says: “Since joining the agency I’ve been trying to turn our courtyard into a gallery and to see the maiden voyage be such a memorable success was truly heartwarming. It was incredible to see the amount of creativity and passion expressed here and it was wonderful to be surrounded by talented friends supporting each other – and supporting this hugely important cause. Stay tuned, we’ll be back.”
